It’s no walking motorbike like the Suzuki MOQBA, but Penn-E-Farthing just might be the strangest-looking electric bike yet. Chris Makes Stuff basically transformed a children’s electric motorbike toy into a high wheeler with a large front wheel.
The toy now features a custom-built tubular steel frame, a 350-watt motor, battery and rear wheel from the donor Razor MX350 Dirt Rocket children’s electric motorbike. Its massive 52-inch front wheel is held securely by three sets of frame-mounted rubber rollers, while the solid rubber tire is made from V-belts that have been cut apart. If you’ve never heard of penny farthing, this term basically refers to a high wheel bicycle with a large front wheel and a much smaller rear wheel that was first made popular in the 1880s.
