Logitech Project Ghost is a videoconferencing booth that creates a projection of the person(s) you’re talking to, but without holograms. That’s right, it uses glass at an angle as well as a hidden camera in front of a display to create a Pepper’s Ghost effect, or when a real image is reflected in a transparent screen at a 45° angle so viewers see a virtual image that appear to have depth and appear out of nowhere.
Steelcase built the booth, complete with a very cozy lounge chair facing the screen, while a side table boasts a tablet-style controller. The technology itself is based around the Logitech Rally Plus 4K modular videoconferencing system and a RoomMate compute module, both of which are hidden inside the booth’s frame. There’s no word yet on availability, although pricing is expected to start at $15,000 USD.
