Disney’s Marvel lineup is firing on all cylinders, and Ironheart looks like a real gem. It’s a six-episode miniseries hitting Disney+ on June 24, 2025, as the fifteenth and final part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s (MCU) Phase Five.
This show picks up right after Black Panther Wakanda Forever (2022), following Riri Williams (Dominique Thorne) as she heads back to her hometown of Chicago. Riri, a 19-year-old MIT genius, built a vibranium detector and a prototype suit like Iron Man’s in the movie. Ironheart digs into her backstory, showing what drives her and how her tech—noticed by Wakanda and Talokan in Wakanda Forever—shapes her journey to becoming Ironheart.

There’s talk she might join the Young Avengers, tying into the bigger MCU, but the show keeps things standalone without needing tons of Marvel knowledge.
Riri reportedly builds three new armors, different from her vibranium suit in Wakanda Forever. The show mostly stands on its own but might connect to Armor Wars and the Young Avengers storyline. Since it’s close to The Fantastic Four: First Steps (July 25, 2025), it likely won’t have much crossover to stay easy for new viewers to follow.
Ironheart was originally planned for Fall 2023, but the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, plus Marvel’s plan to cut back on shows to avoid “superhero fatigue,” delayed it. This made it the longest-delayed MCU Disney+ series, finally landing in June 2025.
