Masonite’s M-Pwr Smart Door has launched at Home Depot stores nationwide and are touted as the first residential exterior doors to integrate power, LED welcome lights, a Yale Home lock, and a Ring Video Doorbell. In case of emergency, each smart door features an emergency backup battery that can sustain system power up to 24 hours when fully charged.
The fully integrated smart lock and Ring Video Doorbell do not require individual batteries, thus eliminating the need for battery replacement in these devices, while a smartphone app enables homeowners to program or control the motion-activated LED welcome lighting from anywhere in the world. Pricing starts at $4,000 USD and tops out at around $7,000 depending on the configuration as well as materials.
