MIT has just launched a prototype version of its $100 laptop which is expected to be released world wide in 2006. The creation of this laptop is to mainly help children in emerging nations learn outside the classroom. It features a 500mhz Processor, Linux OS, 1GB Memory, and a Two-Mode Display (Color and B&W).
