It may not be as old as the NES M6 kiosk, but the Nintendo 2DS did celebrate its 10th anniversary this week. The handheld game console was released on October 12, 2013, priced at $129.99 USD, and sold over 10-million units before being discontinued worldwide in 2020.
Think of the 2DS as an entry-level 3DS with a slate form factor rather than a clamshell design. Aside from the awkward size, the main gripes were poorer sound quality and worse battery life. Featuring a 3.53-inch upper LCD, a 3.02-inch non-stereoscopic resistive lower touchscreen, a dual-core ARM11 MPCore processor, a DMP PICA200 GPU, two rear VGA cameras, a front-facing camera, 1GB of internal Flash memory, SD card expansion, and a 1,300mAh battery.

The system also has backward compatibility with the existing library of more than 2,000 Nintendo DS games, as well as access to wireless connectivity features like multiplayer online game play,” said the company in a 2013 press release.
