Yes, it’s possible to play Nintendo Switch games with an NES Power Pad, but the experience is not ideal. Why? You need to remap all of the Joy-Con buttons to the floor mat, and that requires the Titan One USB adapter and Retro USB’s NES adapter.
The mod isn’t perfect, but does allow one to play pinball as well as Super Mario Bros. Wonder. For those who aren’t familiar with the Power Pad, it was developed by Bandai and the gray mat boasts twelve pressure-sensors embedded between two layers of flexible plastic. It was typically plugged into the second NES controller port, and had players stepping on the large buttons to control gameplay.
