We’ve yet to hear anything about a PlayStation 5 Portable, but a Nintendo Switch smartphone actually makes sense. Why? Mario Kart Tour is Nintendo’s second highest grossing mobile to date, and having their own smartphone would mean keeping 100% of the profits instead of sharing it with Apple, Google, etc.

Industrial designer Ivan Llaneza shows us what such a smartphone could look like, and the coolest feature would have to be the removable Joy-Con controllers. These two gamepads are magnetic and basically click onto the smartphone when gaming. As for the handset, it reportedly features an OLED LTPO panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, with processor yet to be determined. However, we wouldn’t be surprised if it has NVIDIA’s upcoming Tegra X2 processor, along with 6GB / 8GB of high-speed LPDDR5 RAM.

Joy-Cons are now magnetic. The phone contains two lids, one at the bottom an the other at the top, at the time you want to play, you can take them of to reveal magnetic pins to connect Joy-Cons. Both Joy-Cons have a system lock that you can release by pressing a button at the back of the Joy-Con,” said Llaneza.
