OK Go used 64 iPhones in their new A Stone Only Rolls Downhill’ music video, and not in the way you might expect. Put simply, the handsets played a mosaic of 64 different videos, which, when combined, created one giant image.
No, they didn’t use AI to just overlay images on the iPhones, but the team instead shot one video for each of the devices and laid them out, side-by-side, as a mosaic of screens. How long did all of this take? Well, just filming alone took 8-days, and required more than a thousand takes, with the final video featuring over two hours and twenty minutes of single-take clips into one frame.
