Yes, solar eclipses really do occur on Jupiter, and they happen when any of the natural satellites of the planet pass in front of the Sun. NASA recently released a series of images captured on September 12th, 2019 of a solar eclipse on Jupiter as its moon, Io, casts a shadow on the gas giant’s north equatorial belt. There are five satellites capable of completely occulting the Sun: Amalthea, Io, Europa, Ganymede and Callisto. All the others are either too small or distant to be able to completely conceal the Sun, so it can only transit the star.

Sinot Aqua Hydrogen Superyacht
Extravagant superyachts are nothing new, but the Sinot Aqua may be the first one to run on liquid hydrogen and offer a range of 3,750 nautical miles. The main attraction isn’t the outdoor pool or indoor living areas, but rather its huge hydrogen tanks that can be visited by taking a spiral staircase in the center of the boat down to the lowest of five decks. Once there, you’re greeted by two 28-ton, vacuum-isolated tanks that stabilize the liquid hydrogen at -253° C (-423.4° F). They’re used to power two 1-MW electric propulsion motors and two 300-kW bow thrusters, while a 1.5-MWh battery pack is a buffer.

What if you were to turn one of these into a tank? One group of Russian auto enthusiasts did just that and the resulting vehicle is just as impressive.
