Long before internet memes, there was Morris the Cat, the mascot for 9Lives brand cat food, who has appeared on its packaging and in many of its television commercials. This particular appearance was on a 1986 calendar titled “Morris, A Cat For Our Times” that featured several pieces of technology. Did you know that three different cats have played Morris the Cat? Custom 200MPH RX777 Supercar

Adam Taylor spent 10-years building his very own supercar that all started when he was a college student and went on through his grad years. He worked tirelessly to bring his dream car to life and it ended up with a powerful 950hp LS V8 engine that can rev up to 8,000 rpm. The body was all handcrafted from sheet metal, with the front headlights sourced from an Aston Martin Vantage, and the rear boasting Lotus Elise taillights. ““It’s a very hopped-up go kart type feel where your feet are almost touching the front wheel and your backs almost touching the back wheel. It’s very compact, but very wide. I think the most challenging aspect of this build was reaching near-perfect symmetry with the hand-formed body,” said Adam. Self-Healing 3D Printed Gel
Brown University researchers have developed a 3D-printed hydrogel that can repair itself. To be more specific, it’s a dual polymer – one with covalent bonds and the other ionic – capable of bending, twisting or sticking together when treated with certain chemicals. The first provides strength and structural integrity, while the second the ability to bend and self-adhere. When combined, the soft material is perfect for use in robotics and / or medicine. Professor Hubert Zitt decided to transform the Zweibrücken Observatory of the Natural Science Association into a giant R2-D2.

ISS Astronaut Spacewalk

Astronauts Anne McClain and Nick Hague worked outside the International Space Station Friday to swap in powerful new batteries for the lab’s solar array power system, a task that started back in 2017. The two began their six-hour 39-minute excursion at 8:01 a.m. EDT, floating out of the Quest airlock to mark the 214th spacewalk since station assembly began in 1998. Their goal was to finish a job already started by flight controllers remotely operating the station’s robot arm, which is to replace six large nickel-hydrogen batteries on the port, or left, side of the station’s power truss with three more powerful 300-pound lithium-ion batteries. There’s another extravehicular activity mission planned next Friday. Read more for the entire spacewalk video.

Mosquito Supercar Czech Republic
Sure, Škoda vehicles are also from the Czech Republic, but when you hear about supercars, that’s probably one of the last places you’d expect one to be designed and manufactured in. Introducing Mosquito (reference to the Havilland DH.98 Mosquito British World War II fighter plane). At 2,147-puonds, thanks to a full carbon fiber body, it’s powered by a naturally-aspirated V8 engine proucing 600 horsepower and 479 foot-pounds of torque, enabling it to accelerate from 0-62 mph in just 2.9-seconds, while topping out at 200 mph.
