You read that right, Spielberg received an offer to direct the first Harry Potter movie, but said: “I purposely didn’t do the Harry Potter movie because for me, that was shooting ducks in a barrel. It’s just a slam dunk. It’s just like withdrawing a billion dollars and putting it into your personal bank accounts. There’s no challenge.” Continue reading for more interesting facts that you probably didn’t know.

My Modern Met says, “upon closer inspection, the subtle differences and distortions reveal themselves as details like aged skin, differently colored eyes, facial hair, nose shape, and lip color.” Continue reading for more.

Some may call these *edits*, but in reality, these bizarre images happened as the result of misusing the iPhone’s panorama function. According to Craig W. of Australia, “They are anomalies caused by using the ‘Panoramic’ function on an iPhone…the way the lens ‘stitches together’ what it sees is what has caused any movement in the frame to come out like these hideous pictures. So they are correct to say that they are ‘Panoramic photos gone wrong’ because part of the problem was the camera not sweeping across the landscape to cause a true panorama.” Continue reading for more.

Let’s face it, everyone who went to school, whether it be elementary or college, has probably *not* studied for a test. This college student found a creative solution by pretending to have both arms on his desk, when in reality, one of them is stuck out below searching the internet for answers. However, the quarry filled with water, and soon the prison itself also drowned in what locals call “the blue lagoon.” Now paddleboarders, kayakers, scuba divers and many Instagrammers spend their days at the sunken jail, which may look like an under and above-water playground at first glance. Bored Panda says, “Ancient mariners were often guided home by bonfires built on hilltops, which were later elevated and evolved into lighthouses.” Continue reading for more.

No, you’re not looking at someone in the process of transforming into The Hulk, but rather an interesting science experiment. In this video, a scientist from the University of Toronto, Canada – known as NurdRage on YouTube – places his hand in a jar of hot ice (molten sodium acetate) so it crystallizes around his fingers. Seconds later, the man’s fingers are coated in a thick layer of ice. But instead of being cold, the scientist explains that his hand is actually quite warm, ‘like a hot bath’. Continue reading for a video on how to make hot ice at home.
