Anyone who hasn’t been to “The City of Light” in France would probably mistake the image above for the real deal, but upon closer inspection, all of the buildings and roads look off. That’s because it’s just a replica of Paris, France in China, called Tianducheng. It was originally planned as a city for around 10,000 inhabitants, but the current population is estimated at a mere 2,000 people, many of whom are “working on” a nearby French-themed amusement park. The community of Wytheville, Virginia experienced a series of UFO encounters in 1987, with the first sighting being made by three policeman who were all former military. On October 7, 1987, WYVE radio station news reporter Danny Gordon received a telephone call from the local Sheriff about this incident. Two weeks later, on October 21, Gordon, along with his friend Roger Hall, a commercial pilot, took a drive to the southern part of Wythe County, where most of the UFO reports had originated. During their drive home both men spotted a large, domed, wingless object moving toward them. Roger Hall said that the object was the size of two football in length, there were three windows on the craft, light coming out from the inside, and a red ball moving toward what he felt was a mother ship. St. Mary Axe (above) is a medieval church in the City of London that still stands today, blending seamlessly with the modern buildings surrounding it. The church gave its name to a street of the same name, which links Leadenhall Street with Camomile Street and Houndsditch. No. 30 was the location of the Baltic Exchange until it was destroyed by an IRA bomb in 1992; the Exchange is now located at No. 38 just to the north of its former address.
