British scientists have invented a brain-cooling motorcycle helmet called ThermaHelm. It features two chemical packs — built into the helmet’s lining — that trigger upon sudden impact and the resulting “reaction lasts up to 45 minutes, stabilizing the temperature of the brain and improving the crash victim’s chances of survival.” Continue reading
