A convenience store security camera captured footage of a runaway sawblade from a nearby construction site nearly striking a man on March 28. Shane Reimche can be seen entering the QuikTrip and just a few seconds later, the blade slams into the exterior wall of the store, inches away from the door.
The impact from the singular blade was so strong that the owner of QuickTrip said the entire building shook. Where did the blade come from? It allegedly spun away from an NW Natural job site by a contractor who has now been placed on temporary leave during the investigation.
I mean, obviously it wasn’t my time but probably closest I’ve ever experienced. I was walking into the store here, I put my hand on the door and I heard a loud bang and yelling here at the corner. Just as a cloud of smoke pops up and I see a guy fall in the ditch, and four-foot blade hurtling at me,” said Reimche.
