The Soyuz “TMA-18” spacecraft successfully docked with the International Space Station at 9:26am Moscow time yesterday. In three days or less, they’ll be joined by a 7-person crew from NASA’s Space Shuttle Discovery. Video after the break.

With the winding down of the shuttle, the Soyuz – which launched the world’s first satellite into space in 1957 – is set to take on the burden of carrying astronauts to and from the space station.
