Scientist Drake Anthony, better known as Styropyro on YouTube, wanted to see what happens when you wire 100 car batteries in parallel. Let’s just say that not much can stand up to 85,000 amps, especially random items like a crowbar, bolt, graphite rods connected to cables, and more.
What might surprise most is that the switch is secured to a modified hydraulic log splitter rather than a fortified enclosure. Connecting two or more batteries in parallel basically increases the voltage or amp-hour capacity, allowing for higher voltage applications as well as power hungry applications. In case you decided to skip the first few minutes of the video, Drake warns that messing even with a single car battery could have dire consequences, so this is a project you definitely shouldn’t try at home, even with the technical know how.
