According to BBCNews, MIT Media Lab Chairman and Founder Nicholas Negroponte has presented the design for a sub $100 laptop. Many of you might be thinking that this must be made out of recycled paper for it to be this cheap. Well you’ll be happy to know that these laptops will be “virtually indestructible” due to it being encased in rubber. 
This Linux Based notebook will feature a 500mhz Processor and Flash Memory Slots which replace the need for a hard drive. The screen will be dual-mode meaning it can be viewed varying light conditions even the ability to switch betweeen monochrome and color.
The following year, Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney plans to start buying them for all 500,000 middle and high school pupils in the state.Professor Negroponte predicts there could be 100 million to 150 million shipped every year by 2007.
