PlayStation 4 Remote Play iOS iPhone

Sony has just released a new PS4 firmware update (6.50) and this one adds Remote Play for iOS users, which means you’ll be able to stream and play games directly from an iPhone or iPad. Remote Play functionality first appeared on the PlayStation Vita in 2013 and then was later released on Mac and Window platforms three years later. Simply put, all you’ll need is a compatible iOS device and the Remote Play app. Once downloaded, just pair the device with your PS4, sign into your PSN account, and you’re ready to play. .Read more for a video showing how to set this up on your own iOS device.

TomeJam & Earl: Back in the Groove

Released in 1991, the original ToeJam & Earl centered around alien rappers who have crash-landed on Earth and attempt to escape the planet. Players assumed the role of either ToeJam or Earl and collect pieces of their wrecked spacecraft. HumaNature Studios, the company founded by series creator Greg Johnson, is set to release the latest in the series on March 1, 2019. This time, the game will play from a fixed, isometric viewpoint, and feature the same basic gameplay of exploring up a successive layer of floating islands. Conviction Anthem Prequel
Neill Blomkamp of District 9 fame has just released a live-action Anthem prequel, called “Conviction,” and you won’t need EA Access to watch it, or a PlayStation 4 / Xbox One for that matter. This short film takes precedes the events of Anthem, and blends realistic CGI with live-action footage to immerse you in the Fort Tarsis player hub. There are rumors that it may eventually be turned into a feature-length film, but for now, it should be enough to hold fans over. Read more to watch.

Sony’s PlayStation 4 isn’t an expensive game console to begin with, but the company just slashed prices in South Korea and massive lines promptly ensued. Currently, the PS4 Pro was marked down from 498,000 South Korean Won ($444) to 348,000 KRW ($311), while the original PlayStation 4 got slashed from 378,000 KRW ($337) to 248,000 KRW ($221), and the PSVR can be snatched up at 298,000 KRW ($266), down from 448,000 KRW ($400). Anthem Electronic Arts BioWare

Anthem is an upcoming online multiplayer action role-playing video game being developed by BioWare and published by Electronic Arts set for a worldwide release on the Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms on February 4, 2019. Players assume the role of a Freelancer, a group of people who leave their civilization to explore the surrounding landscape, and the game combines a third-person shooter with the action role-playing game elements in a “contiguous open world”. Mortal Kombat 11

NetherRealm Studios’ upcoming Mortal Kombat 11 game is the eleventh main installment in the series and a sequel to 2015’s Mortal Kombat X. It’s scheduled for release on April 23, 2019, across the Microsoft Windows, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms. Those who pre-order the game will be given access to the character Shao Kahn, and, on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, access to the game’s beta phase, which is set to start in March 2019. There will also be a Mortal Kombat 11 Kollector’s Edition that includes the main game, Kombat Pack, Scorpion mask bust, exclusive steel case, commemorative magnet coin and authenticity plate. “I’ve been a lifelong Mortal Kombat fan, and Sonya Blade was the first kick-ass, female video game character that I related to. Now I get to voice her in Mortal Kombat 11. It’s a dream come true to be a part of the Mortal Kombat franchise that I grew up playing,” said Ronda Rousey. Bungie Activision Destiny 2

Bungie officially announced today that it’s parting ways with Activision Publishing and will self-publish all future Destiny titles. They partnered in 2010 after Bungie sold its Halo rights to Microsoft and started work on what would become 2014’s mega successful online multiplayer / shooter RPG hybrid called Destiny. The franchise’s downfall may be somewhat due to the popularity of free-to-play games like Fortnite and PubG that make all of its revenue with microtransactions. “Looking ahead, we’re excited to announce plans for Activision to transfer publishing rights for Destiny to Bungie. With our remarkable Destiny community, we are ready to publish on our own, while Activision will increase their focus on owned IP projects,” said Bungie.
