Cool Innovative Gadgets

It’s not just smartphones getting smarter, but everyday gadgets as well, and one such example would be the credit card-sized CardCharger. Or, a biometric padlock that does away with the traditional combination codes. Last, but not a least, a glide toaster that uses ceramic heating elements to make sure your toast is perfectly browned. Poo Wi Fi

Let’s face it, not all dog owners pick up after their pets, but “Poo Wi-fi” aims to change that. Mexico-based internet portal Terra has teamed up with ad agency DDB to create a machine that offers a free Wi-Fi in exchange for dog poop. In other words, people are rewarded with a number of free Wi-Fi minutes – depends on weight – for dropping off poop. Don’t think that throwing anything into the machine will work because there is an actual attendant that hands out the bags and watches over what people put in them. Transparent Car Japan

This technically isn’t a *transparent car*, but rather one created by Susumu Tachi and Masahiko Inami of the Graduate School of Media Design at Keio University, that utilizes video camouflage technology. The system uses projectors, cameras, and special mirrors to mirror what one would see on the outside the car onto the surfaces inside. Continue reading for a video and more information.

Ambulance Drone

Drones can be used for many things, and now, you can add saving lives to that list. Invented by Dutch student Alec Momont, this ‘ambulance drone’ is basically a flying defibrillator that is capable of reaching heart attack victims within precious life-saving minutes. It can fly at speeds of up to 100 km/h (60 mph), and can carry a 4kg load – in this version, a defibrillator (other equipment works as well). Cool Inventions

It’s not uncommon to have dozens of pens laying around your home or office, but what if there was a printer that could utilize them as ink? Introducing the Pen Printer. Simply insert a pen into the device, and it will automatically extract whatever may be leftover in its ink cartridge. That is just one of the many cool inventions above that might make your life easier. Click here to view the first image in today’s viral picture gallery. Awesome Gadgets and Technologies

With the way things are headed, it’s not too farfetched to say that everything will soon be smartphone-controlled, but there are still some brilliant ideas being churned out by inventors, including the five examples you see above. Our favorite? Definitely the IQ Alarm Clock, but let’s just hope the questions can constantly be updated via Wi-Fi, and that there are user-selectable difficulty levels. Pocket Solar Charger

Sure, many gadgets today have built-in lithium-ion batteries, but for those that still require them, rechargeable is the way to go, as they save both money and reduce hazardous waste. Unfortunately, many require charging times in excess of 4 hours. So, Instructables user Shawn Frayne decided to show the internet how to create a pocket-sized solar battery charger using just a playing card and some supplies. Continue reading for a video and the instructions.

Windowless Plane

We have seen the future of passenger planes, and they’ll probably be windowless. Sounds depressing, right? Well, before you let that thought sink in, just imagine that this plane’s interior is lined with ultra-thin displays that show images from outside the plane. The displays can mirror whatever is outside in accordance with how passengers look around – think a giant smartphone touchscreen. Continue reading for the video and more information.

Kenguru is a futuristic, single-person electric car designed specially for those in wheelchairs. Its unique design allows them to easily enter the vehicle and drive around, as the wheelchairs can easily be rolled into their car from the back. You’re then able to securely strap it in, and start driving. Continue reading for another video, more pictures and additional information.

Colorized Photos

Twitter user ColoredHistory specializes in giving old black and white photos new life, with some color. Computerized colorization began in the 1970s with a process developed by Wilson Markle. Movies colorized using early techniques have soft contrast and fairly pale, flat, washed out color; however, the technology has improved since the 1980s. To perform digital colorization, a digitized copy of the best monochrome film print available is needed. Technicians, with the aid of computer software, associate a range of gray levels to each object, and indicate to the computer any movement of the objects within a shot. Continue reading to see more.
