BMW spent the past 2-years creating a fully-autonomous motorcycle that can not only race around a track, but also park itself without any human input, thanks to AI-powered software. The ultimate goal is for this AI to keep riders safe as a driving assistant that kicks in automatically to adjust the brakes or steering during emergencies. “Researchers have already spent hundreds of hours developing the technology, and hope it could be installed in BMW motorcycles of the future. The automaker has not revealed what technology it uses to help the bike see, but it likely involves use of motion-sensing cameras, lidar and AI technology – like almost all autonomous cars,” according to The Daily Mail.
