For those who want the ultimate in performance, put Toshiba’s Qosmio G30 on your list. It sports a vibrant 17-inch HD WUXGA display, an Intel Core Duo T2500 processor (2.0 GHz), 1GB of DDR2 memory, NVIDIA GeForce Go 7600 128MB VRAM graphics module, 200GB SATA HDD, integrated hybrid TV tuner (analog/digital), and a HD-DVD multi-format drive. Here’s the verdict:

The G30 is a first gen HD notebook, and it is burdened with too many compromises to fully recommend it. The only person I could recommend this to in good conscience is someone with a fat wallet and who is prepared to live with the early adopter compromises in order to be the first one on the block with an HD-DVD notebook
