Engineered Arts’ Ameca might be smarter, but the Unitree H1 will definitely be more affordable when released. Standing 71-inches tall and weighing in at around 104 pounds, this general-purpose humanoid robot comes equipped with two Intel Core i7-1265U processors, a 3D LiDAR sensor, depth camera, as well as self-developed, high-torque joint motors.
The leg joints each have 5 degrees of freedom (hip + 3 x knee + ankle), while the arms have 4 degrees of freedom (expandable). Currently, this prototype has no hands, but future models will have the option of flexible fingers. It has the ability to walk at a top speed of 3.4 mph and should be commercially available within the next few years, priced at less than $90,000 USD. One thing is for sure, H1 has a long way to go to compete with Boston Dynamics’ Atlas robot.
