The third season of Whale Wars premiered on Animal Planet last night. For those unfamiliar with the series, it “follows Paul Watson, founder of the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, as he and his crew aboard the MV Steve Irwin attempt to deter Japanese ships that hunt whales off the coast of Antarctica.” Video after the break.
The show was born in February 2008, a time when Animal Planet was being rebranded to attract broader audiences and compete with non-animal-centric programming.
