Burning Lightsaber

Allen Pan, an electrical engineer and Star Wars fanatic who is best known for his Thor hammer recreation, has built a real burning lightsaber. It consists of a nichrome ignition (found in model rockets), a syringe valve located in a 3D-printed enclosure, along with a mixture of methanol and acetone for fuel. First, you load the device with butane as a propellant, hit a button that triggers lightsaber sound effects, and you’re ready for an epic duel. This burning lightsaber is essentially a small flamethrower with a focused blue beam. Click here to view the first image in today’s viral picture gallery.
