Connie Cheng and Leonardo Bonanni have developed the world's first "Intelligent Spoon". It's equipped with sensors to measure temperature, acidity, salinity, and viscosity. Download the recorded data to any computer via a cable for furthur processing.
From the article: "Apart from consolidating measurements that are normally done by an array of equipments into a single spoon, the information obtained can be used to advise the users what their next step should be; for example, it tells the user if there is not enough salt in the brine prepared to make pickles."

Why don't they just make a spoon that tells you if the food is too hot to eat so you don't burn your tongue. That would be more useful than this.

I agree... I mean, just look at this thing!! Its too thick and some kind of tape is holding this s*** together!! And do you really need a computer to see if the food is too acid or too salty or even hot?? This is just stupid...

I agree, but I dont think your supposed to eat with it... Maybe its meant to be a stirring spoon? So that i guess the chef preparing the food can tell before its eatin, how much like s*** it will taste like

They came up with a new device to test the acidity and heat of food! It's called "tongue". Available in a store near you.

Hey Jeffy... I guess youre right... Its too weird to pput it in your mouth... But still... Why would a chef be cooking some food with a computer by his side so he can see that the food is too hot, acid and Salty??? I still think this is a stupid invention...

I can see the private sector use way more than the general puplic. You could sell this to governments and agencies that deal with hazardous products.
