Strangest PS3 Commercial Yet

Sony has released some informative and downright strange PlayStation 3 commercials in the past, but this one definitely takes the cake. What are your thoughts? Video after the jump. Here's what "Gizmodo" has to say:
The only way we'd be more confused is if a shiny bald-headed man jumped out at the end and shouted SEGA! Seriously, Sony? Find a new ad agency to do these

Yeah, what the heck is this garbage? You would think after all these years they would know how to make a better commercial. That's a proof that experience sometimes isn't necessary.

Looks like a low-budget homage to 2001: A Space Odyssey -- monolith, baby, psychedelic reflections, and time reversals. SFX not quite up to 1960s standards. Hopefully not a reflection on PS3 graphics capability.

This commercial is getting people online to talk about the PS3, who are talking about it all the time anyway, so NO the forums are not proof that this commercial is doing its work. NOT IN THE SLIGHTEST. If getting normal people to talk about how stupid your commercial is, then this will do its job. I highly doubt this commercial would get anyone who doesn't know what a PS3 is to buy one, or if they know what it is, why they would want to get one. This commercial serves no purpose other than to signify that the PS3 is coming. Otherwise, a pathetic commercial. Microsoft has Sony dominated in the commercial department. None of Sony's new commercials are any good. They try and push their cell and blu-ray on everyone in their pressers, now they even want the common man to appreciate the cell? Sony feels these things are cooler than they are, they aren't anything besides a bigger disc or a fast processor. Sony has no idea why people should care about the PS3.

What the fuck?! Sony really have lost the plot, a scary naked plastic baby, crying then the tears going back into it's eyes, evil laughing, it's something from a horror movie. If this isn't a Halloween stylized commercial I'm scared shitless! The XBox 360 and Nintendo Wii are/will be so much better than the PS3. What's up with it's incredibly hugh size anyway?

This is not the most normal ad I have ever seen (understatement) but I think that it is brilliant. It is sharp, compelling, and it makes you think for a second about the ps3. It's being so strange and creepy is exactly what Sony wanted, I think, because it is leaving an impression. I am not a fanboy and have my own reservations on whether or not to spend that kind of money on something like that but I do appreciate the thought and originality put into it.
