10. 9Vo(l)tive

Forget to bring flashlights? Richard Lawson has just the solution with his 9Vo(l)tive lights.

Turning any 9V battery into a small candle-like light that can be placed anywhere, they’re a clever and eye-pleasing use of the chunky batteries. Scatter them about a flat surface for a cool soft lighting that doesn’t need to be relit whenever a breeze comes through

9. Stay-Cold Polar Pitcher

Simple yet functional, the “Stay-Cold Polar Pitcher” features two compartments — keeping the ice separate from your beverage for easy pouring. Best of all, it’s priced at just $18.

Keeping beverages cold in a pitcher is only easy if it’s something like iced tea that won’t be hurt by some ice cubes watering it down. But what about something that you don’t want ice in, like precious, precious beer?

8. Thanko’s Camera Binoculars

Thanko’s BINOCA01 combines the functionality of a 2.0-megapixel camera and binoculars into one device. It’s powered by two AA batteries and features 32MB of built-in memory. A few caveats: there’s no LCD to preview your shots and it’s lacking a memory card expansion slot. [Source 12]

7. Catchu Camera Frisbee

Tired of playing with sticks? Catch some frisbee action and record a home video at the same time with this gadget. Designed by Adam Sutcliffe, the “Catchu Camera Frisbee” is capable of recording up to 20-minutes of “broadcast quality” video and has no moving parts for maximum durability. Video here.

You’ll also notice the frisbee has a cleverly designed vein on top that ensures the camera always points in the direction of flight even while the disc is spinning

6. Tote-A-Keg

What’s a camping trip without beer? One quick way to lug around a 2.5-gallon keg is with MoreBeer’s Tote-A-Keg. One potential drawback, it costs $150.

It uses CO2 to dispense the flowing beery goodness through an outer spout. The handle and wheels make this device easily the best accessory of any drinker. Being an alcoholic is damn expensive, I should know, my Tote-A-Keg is on the way

5. Slice-O-Rama – Vegetable Table Saw

One quick way to cut your vegetables is with the Slice-O-Rama. This cutting board/table saw has “rails to guide the built-in table saw into your lettuce, potatoes, apples and yams.” Pricing and availability have not yet been announced.

It uses the kind of saw that removes casts from your arm, so it supposedly won’t cut into your fingers. I haven’t been lucky enough to experience the business end of one of those cast-saws, so I couldn’t tell you whether that’s true or not

4. Two Second Self-Pitching Tent

This innovative tent by Quechua comes folded, but when thrown in the air, it deploys into full form before reaching the ground. Available now for $83 here.

Cleanup is also easy, but takes a bit longer than two seconds. If it weren’t for the mosquitos, ants, bears, and our hatred for the outdoors, this might make us go camping

1. Ultimate Swiss Army Knife

Wenger has unveiled a new Swiss Army Knife that measures 9-inch long, weighs 2-pounds, and has over 85 tools. Here’s just a small sampling: “golf shoe spike wrench, a bike chain rivet setter, and a laser pointer with a 300ft range.” More pictures here.

Presumably this is so seasoned golfers can tune their bicycle’s rivets before heading off on a deer hunt / cycling trip armed with blinding lasers and an entire collection of 3-inch knives
