So you've seen the iPhone's lovable side, now check out five reasons on why you shouldn't buy the iPhone, or at least this version. Disagree? Then please leave us a comment with your thoughts.

No 3G Support

Without 3G support, users won't be able to download/stream data faster than 1Mbps. HSDPA allows for data transfer speeds of up to 1.8MBps.

Integrated Battery

Like the iPod, the iPhone has an integrated battery, which means you'll have to send your unit back to Apple when it dies.

Camera

Though not many use their phone primarily for taking photos, its 2.0-megapixel camera can't compete with Samsung's (5.0-megapixel F700; 3.0-megapixel F520) offerings.

Locked to Cingular Network

If you happen to switch to another GSM carrier, such as T-Mobile, you won't be able to use your iPhone on their network.

No QWERTY Keypad

Having a multi-touch display is nifty and all, but a slide out QWERTY keypad is definitely a feature that should've been included -- messaging, email, etc.

i personaly support the movement to move all bodily gadgets into one item. cingular, is the best network, so i dont mind it only being cingular... it works in every country. texting is stupid. there is no point to it. a 5 megapixel camera on a phone with barely any space is also stupid. you do not realy need 5 megapixel pictures on an item that can display a resolution less than 500X500. even if you do send it to a computer, the quality is going to suck because its not slr with proper lenses

i got another one....PRICE!!!...funny how one of the top 5 reasons to not get a PS3 one EVERY1s list was the price....yet no1 complains about the iphones prices...even tho the PS3 does so much more than this piece of junk does.
3
and another one, with an iphone you're basically saying you're middle classed, with average taste and average intelligence which is not good or bad because if you are this way, you won't notice it it's just that certain people around you would notice, I would

bob well said, £500 for a phone that has a fixed battery, non-expandable memory, non open software compatible phone? and lets be honest, almost everyone now days change there hpone every year s £500 for something one yesr or £500 for something at least 5 years (PS3) hmmm, unless your are really gay and have no friends, the PS3 is i think most peoples answer
5
But what about the fact that with the touch screen you have a keyboard on screen? People always seem to forget about this.

"and another one, with an iphone you’re basically saying you’re middle classed, with average taste and average intelligence which is not good or bad because if you are this way, you won’t notice it it’s just that certain people around you would notice, I would" ... that makes no sense what so ever... how does the iPhone make you middle class ? and since when is middle class something bad ? having an iPhone is far more "top class" than having a Motorola V3 or any other "normal" phone... your point makes no sense. greets

With iPhone your not buying a device, you buy into an image.
8
Absolutely, PS3 is capable of a lot more than this is and justifies the price. You're even forgetting that it's $500 after activation rebates for a new contract! Wow! More on the battery thing, one battery means that if you're listening to the music part of the device, and you drain out your battery, your phone is now dead....So since so many people have their headphones surgically attached to their eardrums, your phone is never on standby, and thus always draining. A split battery with two cells or something like that would have been practical. People will buy this thing because it has a lowercase "i" prefix. Apple has now really created an image of style. iPhone=poor business phone. No outlook support of course, and guess what most corporate email runs off of? You guessed. So now we know as you yap on your phone that you aren't a professional or someone who is involved in business, you're more likely to be using a TREO, a blackberry, or one of the multitude of devices running Windows Mobile (now in its 6th iteration) It'll sell because of that i, and people shopping for phones will look at it, and say "cool" but when they see that samsun or motorola next to it for half the price after activation, with similar features, and use for business purposes... You see who the obvious winner is.

"won’t be able to download/stream data faster than 1Mbps" makes it sound like it might approach 1Mbps. It won't. Real world Edge GSM connection speeds are usually around ~200Kbps, in other words 5x slower than the 1Mbps figure. BTW real wold HSDPA performance right now on cingular is about 800kbps when you happen to be in one of the few areas it's currently supported and happen to be close enough to a tower and likely outside.

could we get a more original name than the iPhone. thats about as ridiculous as an iFork or an iRectalThermometer...im going with the iHateApple.

Oh my, how can so many people be so cynical, as well as so incorrect? Buying into an image? I'm getting an iPhone because it is far better than any other phone. Ever. I do not have an iPod, I do not have any Apple products for that matter, so I can't be accused of being a fanboy. I care nothing about an "image." I just want a phone that rules. It's not THAT expensive for all that it does guys! It's a freaking iPod AND the smartest smartphone on the market (er... will be, rather). It's got WiFi, an full web browser, a qwerty kayboard on the screen, and it's just so freaking beautiful! I am going to pay $600 for the 8GB version, and I have no qualms about the price whatsoever. "and another one, with an iphone you’re basically saying you’re middle classed, with average taste and average intelligence" Excuse me? I really can't put into words how much you need to be slapped for saying something so disrespectful. No. What you're basically saying with an iPhone is that you want a touchscreen phone with a built in video, iPod, Google maps, web browsing, visual voice mail, and WiFi, and that you are willing to pay upwards of $500 for it. There is nothing average taste or average intelligence about it. So please, quit trying to make yourself seem like some kind of hot shot to all us people on these here internets by presenting your opinions in such an unnecessarily cocky manner. I'd thank ye kindly. That said, I do wish it had better battery life, and the fact that it is integrated is rather obnoxious.

iv'e got one- how bout the fact it's only 8 gigs? and it cost as much as the ps3? that sucks. i'm not ever gonna get it. if their was the same thing with just the ipod part, and a 30-40 gb hard drive, i'd be all over it. but i have verizon, and i dont have 600 bucks, and it doesnt have a large enough capacity... so no iphone for me.
