That's right, Ben Heck has done it again, this time he's built a custom XBox 360 laptop. It features a 17-inch widescreen display, integrated keyboard, Wi-Fi, and a 3-port USB hub. This laptop measures 6.75" x 10.75" x 2.8" and weighs in at 14-pounds. More pictures and a video after the jump.
A friend of mine asked back in May "Can you build an Xbox 360 laptop?" And I responded "Sure, can you pay for it?" He agreed, and thus I set forth on what was surely to be my most complex and insanely ridiculous videogame project yet

Damn! Ben Heck is truly a genius... So good to see creative people that evolve and get better and better... He got now to a point that I cant even imagine what´s his next creation... Really nice... If I had the money i would like one aswell...

You should sell them! Or sell the idea to a company at the least. I'd buy one!

Go to his website and see how much he wants for a ps2 or n64. 1000 and like 900 respectively. So i'd imagine around 1500 to 1800 for an xbox 360. It's ALOT of work. MUCH respect. I bought his book on hacking video game consoles. Very cool. Learned alot.

Despite the fact that a laptop isn't really a laptop if it has to be plugged in to an outlet... it's damn slick. Kudos and such. Though I'd like to see the keyboard working..and how long the thing can go before melting...

That's amazing. But 17 inch display? Jeez I bet the text on dead rising is stab out your eyes level of pain to read on that.

The person making the comment abou dead rising text is clearly not playing in 720p. In high-def it's 100% readable on my 17" CRT

[...] The unit weighs approximately 14 pounds, is 2.8 inches thick and, more importantly, can play Dead Rising. Through an intricate process that undoubtedly involved soldering, bending and the use of arcane magic, Ben combined the 17″ HD monitor, Wi-Fi adapter, a keyboard and a water-cooling system with the innards of an Xbox 360. link [...]

Dave Interesting topic... I'm working in this industry myself and I don't agree about this in 100%, but I added your page to my bookmarks and hope to see more interesting articles in the future
