XBox 360 Price Drop?

Britxbox.co.uk reports that Microsoft may soon slash the price of its core XBox 360 console by almost $100 -- due to a redesigned processing chip. Short video of the XBox 360 manufacturing process after the jump.
A new version of the Xbox 360 would be cheaper to manufacture and debut about a year after launch. If they hit their targets, the Microsoft would be able to cut the costs of its console in the autumn of 2006. Microsoft would have the option of slashing the price of its console, just as rivals come out with their first consoles. That would put a lot of pressure on Sony and Nintendo

Are they even making money on these yet? And they're dropping the price? I guess this may be the last console we see from Microsoft...

your bad. If you actually read up on the hardware inside the xbox 360, it is better then most pcs.

True, but you're leaving out a very important detail. Most computers aren't designed to be much more than electronic file cabinets. PC's designed for ultimate gaming and so forth, are leaps and bounds beyond 360 or PS2
