Foldable bikes are nothing new, but Sada Bicycle is the first hubless full-sized model that can fold to the size of an umbrella. You read that right, it sports a standard bicycle dimension, compete with with 26-inch wheels attached to the frame by an anchoring system. Unlike most bicycles, which their rigidity from the tension in the spokes, the Sada Bicycle’s strength is put into its rim. While this adds weight to the outside wheel, which can hinder performance, the prototype was designed as a city bike. The designer is currently raising funds to solve the weight issue and manufacture a model that combines light-weight bicycle design with performance.
