Ever wonder what people of the past thought the future was going to be like? If so, then you might want to watch “1999 A.D.”, a short film released in 1967 by the Philco-Ford Corporation to mark the company’s 75th anniversary. The house of tomorrow that you’re about to see is filled with consumer technologies that aim to make daily life more comfortable and convenient, complete with lots of displays.



Sure, not everything was predicted accurately, like how shopping, personal finance, and education would all take place across multiple single-function large machines, instead of a single multi-functional smart device. Unfortunately, home energy and utilities still have a ways to go before they’re as efficient as those you see in the film. However, Michael, a 45-year-old husband, father, and astrophysicist, could be compared to modern day Elon Musk, as he and a team are working on the first Mars colonization.
