Nissan’s Elgrand Returns After 16 Years with Hybrid Smoothness and Crafted Details

Nissan launched the fourth-generation Elgrand minivan in Japan on July 16. Advance orders already topped 6,000 units before sales began, a strong signal that buyers want something fresher than the long-running previous model. The new version brings a hybrid powertrain, noticeably larger dimensions, and a cabin focused on making long drives feel less tiring for everyone on board.

Designers began with a clear shape that appears anchored and confident from all angles. A visually appealing grille is inspired by traditional Japanese kumiko woodworking designs, with clean geometric lines that flow into the lights. The full-width rear lights extend all the way across the back, while the larger windows in the sliding doors open up the side and make the interior feel more spacious. You can choose between many one-color alternatives or a two-tone design that really highlights the crisp lines. When compared to its predecessor, this creature has expanded in every manner. It now measures 4,995 millimetres long, 1,895 millimeters wide, and 1,975 millimeters tall, with a 3,000 mm wheelbase. The Bose sound system is absolutely top-notch, with a 22-speaker 3D surround sound system that fills the entire vehicle, and there are even speakers in the headrests to ensure that everyone gets a decent listen without having to crank up the volume too much.


There are also some utilitarian details that make daily life easier. There’s a wireless charger that can charge two phones at once, as well as three 100-volt outlets with a total of 1,500 watts of power, so you can run your laptop, keep your drinks cool, or even hook up a small appliance while the car is parked.
