According to Know Your Meme, “Face Swapping” is basically a Photoshop technique that involves digitally altering the faces of two or more subjects depicted in a given image. The exact origin of the face swapping technique is currently unknown, but two of the earliest known Photoshop memes in the early 2000s are the Asian Prince and Little Fatty, which featured many examples in which the subject’s face was superimposed over another.
