The top image above was shot by photographer Nicholas Buer from the shores of Laguna Cejar in Salar de Atacama in Northern Chile and shows the gigantic arch of stars that is the Milky Way galaxy. According to Dvice: “Off to the left you can see two little blurry smudges, which are entire galaxies in their own right: the the Large and Small Magellanic Clouds, which are satellite galaxies of ours. The big bright thing in the center is our overexposed moon, and the slightly less bright thing right above the moon is Venus.
