
At first glance, the fishes above may seem real, but they’re actually just 3D resin sculptures. To create this ultra realistic effect, artist Keng Lye creates his work using successive layers of transparent resins. According to This is Colossal, “he often uses an egg shell to form the body of his cephalopods which then merges seamlessly with alternating layers of resin and acrylic to create an incredible sense of depth and dimensions.” Continue reading for a video and more pictures.
