RealWear Voice-Controller Thermal Camera
Lenovo’s Glasses T1 may be more useful for some, but RealWear’s Thermal Camera module can be used completely hands-free using just your voice when connected to the Navigator 500 headset. This enables front-line workers to capture a high-resolution visible-spectrum image or a variety of thermal and color modes to quickly identify temperature anomalies in mission-critical industrial equipment.

All of the imagery can be viewed in real-time and in the near future, users will gain the ability to share it through Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Webex Expert on Demand, and other software. The Thermal Camera module is compatible with Teledyne FLIR’s ecosystem, thus allowing the special radiometric JPEG format images to be stored, transmitted, and downloaded for use within the FLIR Thermal Studio post-processing software for better analysis. Available in January, with pricing yet to be announced.

As a XR wearable evangelist for Honda, the idea of leveraging the modular design of RealWear Navigator 500 is a no-brainer. A fully hands-free thermal camera will give our technicians another superpower to get the job done fast. For example, a hands-free fully voice-controlled thermal enables us to immediately show what we’re doing to address airlocks and ventilation leaks to the reliability team to give them the confidence that our engines and systems are reliable and meet our high-quality standards,” said Greg Cooper, Innovation Engineer, Manufacturing, American Honda Motor Company.
