It’s been just over 6.5-years since Mafia III was released, so it’s only fitting that Mafia IV game concepts have started popping up, including this one by TeaserPlay made in Unreal Engine 5. Not much is known about the sequel other than the developer Hangar 13 has posted job listings in search of a Tools Engineer to work on a multi-platform game currently in pre-production.
Mafia IV, codenamed ‘Nero’, is going to reportedly be a prequel focuing on the rise of the Salieri family set between 1890-1920. It will most likely be released on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S | X and PC platforms. Since pre-production is typically the stage where the developers iron out a game’s world, characters and systems, we shouldn’t expect a confirmed release date until at least late 2023.
