Axiom Space is collaborating with luxury fashion house Prada to design a next-generation spacesuit for astronauts to use on the lunar surface. Prada’s engineers will work alongside the Axiom Space systems team throughout the AxEMU spacesuit design process ahead of the Artemis mission, planned for December 2025.
These Axiom Space spacesuits are specially designed to provide increased flexibility, greater protection to withstand the lunar environment, as well as specialized tools for exploration and scientific opportunities. NASA’s goal for the Artemis III mission is to land a human crew at the Moon’s south polar region. More specifically, two astronauts aim to land on the surface of the Moon for a stay of about one week.
