Engineers at Deep Robotics trained one of their robot dogs to be wary of humans as well as other random objects and shyness promptly ensued. This behavior needed to be programmed into this version of their X30 robot dog, but we imagine future iterations will have AI algorithms that avoid potential danger automatically.
When outdoors, the robot dog can easily cross various obstacles such as stairs / steps, move freely on unstructured roads, traverse in all directions with a small contact surface. Its IP66/IP67 protection rating also allows it complete reconnaissance missions in harsh environments such as thick smoke, poison, heavy rain, low temperature, and hail.

The Yunshenchu X30 robot dog, the core of the solution, weighs 50 kg and can carry 85 kg of weight under extreme conditions. It also has IP67 waterproof and dustproof capabilities and can work in a temperature range of -20°C to 55°C, regardless of extreme cold or heat, rain or shine,” said Deep Robotics.
