What you end up with is a Nintendo GameCube that offers digital lag-free HDMI output and the ability to download firmware updates over WiFi, while the Shiny Edition adds advanced scaling / video filters. One caveat: the basic version, without an optional spare cable, will set you back $119.99 USD.
