Acura has unveiled their new MDX concept at the 2006 New York Auto Show. This futuristic SUV features an integrated rear hatch, a longer wheelbase, wider track, and Xenon High Intensity Discharge (HID) headlights. It’s powered by a V6 engine with Super Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) technology. The production model will be available this fall.

“The smooth lines and sleek shape of the MD-X Concept challenge the conventions of SUV design,” said Ricky Hsu, chief designer for the MD-X Concept. “Our goal was to create the image of a sports sedan while maintaining generous interior volume and utility of a SUV.”
