When the going gets tough, you could either take public transportation or build ones of these. Let’s see, I’ll take the Tumbler for my daily driver, and the Converticoupe as a weekend cruiser. Continue reading to see them all.
1. Flatmobile
Ok, so it’s not really the Batmobile, but the jet-powered, street legal “Flatmobile” — also known as the world’s lowest car — definitely drew inspiration from its famous counterpart seen in the Batman movies. It has a ground clearance of 2″, is 12’2″ long / 5′ 5″ wide, and 19″ high.
2. Converticoupe
Not your average wooden car, this one is two-faced, boasting both convertible and coupe (saloon-inspired) styled halves. It took a Ukranian designer — who gave up his job and two others cars — approximately 1.5-years to build. Underneath the hood, you’ll find a 100hp engine.
3. Tumbler
Bob Dullam of Super Hero Hype spent between $50,000 – $70,000 building a life-sized replica of the Batman Batmobile Tumbler using nothing more than photos as reference. Every tool used was picked up at a local hardware store, aside from the engine.
4. F-35
Not just a model, this homemade F-35 Joint Strike Fighter by Arthur van Poppel can actually be driven like a car. There’s even a flippable nose and passenger seat should you decide to bring a friend along for the ride — added later.
