Similar to many of The Real Hustle schemes, a group of German bargain hunters was conned into purchasing a lunch bag filled with potatoes, rather than the $972 worth of iPods they paid for — the old bait and switch trick.
..con men showed the German bargain hunters a few iPods, laptops and other gear as “proof” of their authenticity; offered to sell them hundreds of second hand iPods at basement prices.
