First, Saudi Arabia added one, and now, the California Highway Patrol (CHP) has begun testing a Lucid Air pursuit vehicle. It’s most likely based on the 2025 Lucid Air Pure variant, which is priced from around $69,900 USD.
Power comes from a single electric motor that powers the rear wheels, generating 430 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque, enabling the EV to accelerate from 0-60 mph in 4.5 seconds. Other modifications include an emergency lightbar, a rambar on the front bumper, and 18″ heavy-duty wheels made to withstand the demands of police patrol as well as pursuit driving. There’s no word yet on when or if we’ll see this pursuit vehicle in-action on the road.
