Did you know that the Canon PowerShot A70 digital camera from 2003 can play Tetris? This is possible because it uses an MS-DOS-based firmware simply called ‘ROM-DOS’, and in this case, can only be updated via CF card.
Getting things like Tetris required replacing ROM-DOS installer with other software by including a special ‘.ini’ file named exactly the same as the original. However, you can’t run just any DOS program, but rather only ones programmed specifically for the PowerShot A70, like Dir Viewer, Battery Check, PS SysTools, a Depth of Field Calculator, a Histogram for viewing photos, and even a bizarre Tone Generator. The most interesting program would have to be PS-Tetris, a simplified version of the classic puzzle video game.
