The SC-01 arrives in Europe as a compact electric sports car that is simply designed to provide an enjoyable driving experience. This two-seater definitely takes inspiration from the classic wedge shape of the Lancia Stratos, but it manages to pack modern electric performance in a package designed for real roads rather than showrooms.
Tianjin Gongjiangpai Auto Technology came up with the concept, and production was handed over to Jiangling’s JMEV subsidiary, with full support from Xiaomi. However, in order to meet local standards in Europe, the assembly has been shifted to Italy. They will only make 1,000 of these cars accessible to purchasers in chosen areas, with all certification work still to be completed. The first showing is scheduled for January 24, 2026, with sales not far behind.

The SC-01 boasts dual electric motors, one on each axle, which combined produce a strong 320kw or 429hp. They are standard all-wheel drive, but you can easily switch to front or rear wheel drive. It accelerates from 0 to 100 kph in 2.9 seconds and tops out at 200 kph. The power comes from a CALB 60kWh ternary lithium battery, with a CLTC-rated range of 500km. Now, in real life, on European roads at least, the range is likely to be slightly shorter, around 435km under WLTP conditions. To top it off, rapid charging can boost the battery from 30% to 60% in just 36 minutes.

The SC-01 is incredibly light for an electric vehicle, weighing only 1365 kg. This is due to its aluminum structure and tube frame, as well as the fact that it is quite compact, being 4106mm long, 1830mm wide, 1170mm high, and with a wheelbase of 2503mm. It also has pushrod suspension at both ends, a double wishbone configuration, and ultra light magnesium-aluminum wheels, which all contribute to pretty snappy handling. They also have 127mm of ground clearance and a low centre of gravity of 380mm, so it shouldn’t be too wild in the corners.

Instead of a host of digital goodies, they’ve opted for a more driver-focused design. Inside, you’ll find sport seats, a suede-wrapped steering wheel, and some nice tactile climate control controls. Instead of all that fancy digital gear, you’ll get a single driver display and a six-speaker music system to keep you company. Although they feature rear parking sensors, they have kept the advanced driver aids to a minimum, allowing you to have some fun without confusing things too much.

The price for Europe has yet to be determined, but it is expected to be around €61,000, which, when compared to other sporty EVs, puts the SC-01 in a competitive position. With so many other sports cars out today that are more heavier and more difficult to control, this one promises to be a fun drive without all of the unnecessary complication.
