Conquest Reforged Rewrites the Rules on an RTX 5090 to Reveal Minecraft’s Hidden World

When you fire up that beast of a graphics card, the RTX 5090, Conquest Reforged adds a whole new level of depth and visual complexity to Minecraft’s blocky old environment. This modpack, which is based on a core mod that adds a staggering 12,000 additional blocks and 3D models, requires some substantial hardware to perform properly.

First, get the official modpack from Modrinth or CurseForge; it works with Fabric or Forge loaders on Minecraft versions 1.12.2 through 1.20.1. Installing it is simple: search for “Conquest Reforged Modpack”, click install, and then assign roughly 8GB of RAM in the launcher settings. If you’re using an older version of Minecraft than 1.18.2, you’ll need to manually add Optifine, but that’s it. The pack includes everything you need to achieve the finest possible visuals and experience, as well as to keep everything operating smoothly even when the detail level is increased.

Simply grab it and place it exactly where you want it.


When combined with exotic shaders such as Bliss, the RTX 5090 can unleash ray tracing, path tracing, and distant vistas in all their splendor. Grass grows naturally, water ripples with wind-driven waves that appear just like the actual thing, and when you zoom out, you get this lovely shine that looks exactly how it does in the real world. It’s not just grass and water that get the treatment; foliage stacks up in layers for vast, dense woods, particles flow lazily across marshes, and animals animates in the most subtle ways. On a Ryzen 9 9950X3D system with 48GB of RAM, we were able to get 90 FPS at 4K, burning nearly 32GB of VRAM and maxing out the GPU in the process.


Performance scales with hardware, which is nice because the cloth variants of the mod shine brightly. Swapping Optifine for Connectedness can increase frame rates from 55 to 145 in dense forests at a 16-chunk render distance. Even mid-range GPUs such as the RTX 3050 can handle lighter setups, but the 5090 allows you to dial up the settings to ultra without compromising performance. Load times are also slightly faster these days, and community forks are constantly resolving issues and introducing quality-of-life improvements.
