Minecraft Tetris Computer Chungus
Believe it or not, one gamer has managed to build a functional 1Hz computer inside Minecraft that is powerful enough to run Snake and Tetris. Called CHUNGUS (Computation Humongous Unconventional Number and Graphics Unit) 2, it’s essentially a virtual processor that would be as tall as a 20-story building if recreated in real-life.



It took 7-months to complete this simulated 8-bit processor with a one hertz clock speed and 256 bytes of RAM. How does it work? Well, CHUNGUS 2 utilizes Minecraft’s physics engine to recreate the structure of real processors on a macro scale, using materials like red stone dust, torches, repeaters, pistons, etc. When this computer is hooked up to an in-game 32×32 “screen” and “controller”, you’re able to play basic 2D games like Tetris and Snake.
